We have been regular with posting details of the upcoming Porsche Macan and the recent news about the soon-to-be-unveiled Porsche is that it would come with a 3.0-liter V6 ( for Macan S) and a 3.6-liter V6 ( for the Macan Turbo). All the engine variants are likely to come with a 4×4 system. It is also being said that the Macan S would go on sale with a price tag of $52,000, with the top of the line Macan Turbo retailing for $75,000.

The plenty of spy pics that we have seen so far reveal that the car sports a rakish roofline and a sporty window line, along with a ‘clamshell’ hood. While the designers at Porsche have borrowed plenty of design cues from the Cayenne, they have done a great job with giving the Macan its own identity. Being shorter, the Macan definitely looks more athletic.

Underpinning the Macan is the same platform that will underpin the next gen Audi Q5. However, Porsche claims that it will make enough changes to the platform to endow the Macan with sportier handling characteristics.

Porsche aims to sell around 75,000 Macan SUVs in the first year of its launch. It has also emerged that the upcoming Porsche Macan will be unveiled at this year’s LA Auto Show. The car will be seen rivalling the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5 when it goes on sale in mid 2014. The Porsche Macan should be launched in India within a year of its international debut.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more info on the upcoming Porsche Macan SUV.
