A Mahindra Thar Adeventure edition has been unveiled and just 30 units of this model will be produced.
So what’s so adventurous here? For the exteriors, Mahindra have gone for a Java Brown wrap, graphically littered with a 2D map and a compass. The headlights and tail lamps are now covered with protectors, along with a chaff screen for the classic grille. Apart from that, there’ll be black, plastic fender extensions, chrome finished wing mirrors caps and side steps. We reckon there should be a new bull bar up front as well.
The only revision on the inside that is visible from the image are new black seat covers with orange piping and a set of new molded floor mats that can double up during self-recovery or as camping requirements-umm, that’s about it. Mahindra hasn’t disclosed and price yet.
This Thar Adventure Edition will continue to be powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder, CRDe turbo diesel engine producing 103bhp of power and 247Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a five-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels in 2WD mode. No official word on it yet, but the Borg Warner four-wheel drive mechanism that sends torque to all the four wheels should find its way here as well.
