Kawasaki W800 Spotted at a Local Dealership, India Launch May Happen Soon

One unit of the Kawasaki W800 has made it to an Indian dealership fueling speculations that the model will be launched in the country soon. The model was recently launched in Indonesia with prices starting at IDR 249 million (approximately INR 12.72 lakh).

Visually, the W800 sports a retro design, replete with a circular headlamp, chrome fenders and mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, spoke wheels and a ribbed seat. Up-front, the model receives a telescopic suspension while at the rear, duties are taken up by a twin coil suspension setup. The model comes equipped with disc brakes at the front and a drum brake setup at the rear.

Powering the W800 is a 773cc air cooled parallel twin engine. This engine is capable of producing 47 hp at 6500 rpm while the peak torque of 60 Nm comes up at 2500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via five speed transmission. Once launched in India, the Kawasaki W800 could command a price tag of approximately 10 lakh (Ex-showroom). The W800 will make its way to the country through the CBU route and would rival the likes of the Triumph Bonneville.
