We reported when Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) recently launched the automatic variants of the petrol powered Grand i10. It has now emerged that the car maker might launch auto ‘box for the diesel powered variants on December 5.
Hyundai Grand i10 Diesel Automatic could be priced around INR 7.5 lakhs and the advent of automatic gearbox option would mean that the Grand would become the most affordable diesel automatic car in India. Worth a mention here is the fact that Hyundai has always been quick in launching automatic variants of diesel powered cars and both the last gen and current gen Verna was/is being offered with an auto box option for the diesel variants.
Other than getting a new auto transmission, the engine of the Grand i10 Diesel would continue unchanged. The Grand i10′s 1.1-liter U2 three-cylinder diesel engine has a max power of 69 bhp and peak torque of 15.6 kgm. It is highly likely that that the Auto ‘box will be offered in the top two trim levels- Sportz and Asta.
