We have already seen the Honda NC750X, as it was made public last month at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show. The EICMA 2015 witnessed its European debut along with the unveiling of the all new Honda NC750S.

The 2016 Honda NC750S is powered by a 745cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke 8-valve, SOHC parallel 2-cylinder engine which generates power of 54 PS at  6250 rpm and max torque of 68 Nm at 4750 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Moreover, this time the bike will roll out with an optional Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The DCT version will feature three riding modes to choose from, to suit different riding styles and conditions. The new modes differ in how much they allow the engine to rev before upshifting – extracting the maximum performance and efficiency from the DCT gearbox.

Another design element that grabs attention is the capacious storage space. Unlike conventional motorcycle design, the space for fuel tank is occupied by a massive 21 litre storage compartment which should be sufficient to hold a full-size helmet. A compact fuel tank sits beneath the rider seat and can be accessed from the rear of the motorcycle.

Visually, the NC750S has received some cosmetic upgrades. The most noticeable upgrade is the short pentagon-shaped exhaust, claimed to give deeper growl on the exhaust note. LED headlamp and taillight get the clear smoke lens. The new instrument cluster with negative LCD display provides an odo, speedo, trip meter and also a gear selection indicator. There are also indicators for the temperature gauge and riding modes on the DCT variants.

The 2016 Honda NC750S will be endowed with three colour schemes – the Graphite BlackGlare Pearl White and Victory Red. The bike will also roll out in special editions of Graphite Black and Matt Gunpowder – with a few fancy touches to the headlamp, speed lines, seats and wheels. On the whole, the NS750S is basically the NC750X sans the fairing. The silhouette of the bike still remains faithful to its outgoing version. Let see how the bike competes in its class with the new transmission tech.
