Volkswagen has launched the first-anniversary edition of the Taigun SUV. Priced between ₹15.40 lakh and ₹16.90 lakh, the Taigun first anniversary edition is priced around ₹29,999 more than the Topline trim which is offered only with the 1-liter TSI turbo petrol engine. Let’s take a look at what’s new with this edition:
The 1st-anniversary edition adds a new Rising Blue color to the Taigun. However, it is also available in the existing Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red Shades. It adorns the “1st” anniversary badging across the exterior and interior. In addition, the Taigun First Anniversary Edition comprises 11 specially developed elements including high lux fog lamps, body-colored door garnish, black C-pillar graphics, black roof foil, door-edge protector, black ORVM caps, window visors along with aluminum pedals. Other than this, it remains the same as the standard Taigun. The Taigun features a typically understated design like other Volkswagens.
The front features an upright face with a chrome grille featuring horizontal slats. The headlights are LED projector units with LED DRLs. The front bumpers get extensive chrome treatment and a silver skid plate. The dashboard features a dual-tone theme of black and white. It also gets ambient lighting to liven things up. The seats come in leatherette upholstery depending on the variant and also come with a ventilation function. It gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers and wireless smartphone connectivity. Volkswagen had recently updated the Taigun with tire pressure monitoring system standard across all variants and added engine idle/start stop for the 1-litre TSI engine. The turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder TSI engine produces 115ps and 178nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
