As UM Motorcycles India gears up for making their 25 dealerships across the country operational by May, a new teaser video on their official Facebook page shows the new Renegade Sports S doing a burnout. The motorcycle, along with the Renegade Commando and Renegade Classic were launched pan-India earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo. While the Renegade Sports S is priced at INR 1.49 lakhs, the Renegade Commando is priced at INR 1.59 lakhs (both ex-Showroom, Delhi).
The video also reveals the exhaust note of the Renegade Sports S for the first time, which, on full throttle does sound quite intimidating. Power comes from a single cylinder, water-cooled engine developing 25 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed, synchronized mesh transmission. The engine specifications are shared with the Renegade Commando and Classic as well.
The Commando is already riding high with over 1000 bookings. Deliveries for the first lot of motorcycles, said to be 500 units, will take place in the month of June while the second lot of 500 bikes will be delivered in the month of July. Potential customers wanting to take a test drive of the motorcycles will have to register on the Indian website of UM Motorcycles.
