Toyota India has finally launched the Urban Cruiser Taisor. This is the Toyota version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Like the Fronx, the Taisor too will be available with two engine options. A CNG variant is also expected to come in the coming months.
Is it Different from the Fronx?
In terms of dimensions, the Taisor is similar to the Fronx. Both the cars share most of the panels as well. The major differences are at the front and the rear. The Taisor gets a fresh grille reminiscent of other Toyota cars. It also gets a new bumper while retaining the same headlamp cluster as the Fronx. The DRL is also new and doubles as the turn indicator.

The alloys on the Taisor are also different than the Fronx though they are the same size i.e. 16-inches. At the rear, there’s a new connected LED tail lamp, a redesigned bumper and badging.
Inside, the differences are limited to only the colour of the upholstry and the Toyota logo in the steering wheel.

Powertrain
Like the Fronx, the Taisor gets a 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 88 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission. It also gets the BoosterJet 1.0L turbocharged power mill that produces 99 bhp and 148 Nm of torque. This one comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
