Suzuki Launches Special Rhino Edition Jimny With Minor Changes

Suzuki Malaysia has revamped their Jimny by giving them a special rhino theme paint job and mild cosmetic changes. These changes include Rhino decals on the body and the Rear mounted spare tyre, a Retro-inspired heritage grille, a Differential guard, Additional underbody protection, and red mud flaps. No other mechanical changes are done to the vehicle and has the same performance figures as the outgoing Jimny.

Limited Edition?

It is a Malaysia exclusive and is only limited to 30 units. People around the world are praising the Jimny for its capability and Suzuki is getting an exceptional response for it. These special editions and color options can help Suzuki maintain the hype around it’s small off-roader.

In terms of styling the grill takes us back to the 1st gen Jimny and the 2nd gen Jimny. Grille makes It looks cool without trying extra hard but unlike the grille, the sticker and decal set looks like an afterthought. This retro-inspired grille would be a great addition in the Indian market along with the Rhino wheel cover and red mud flaps. Maruti should take notes and get all the good stuff to upsell their accessories.

Will it come to India?

Considering the remarkable reception from Indian customers, it is still premature to expect the emergence of any special editions or limited editions of the Jimny in the Indian market. The overwhelming response received thus far has solidified the demand for the existing Jimny model. Nevertheless, Maruti Suzuki might explore the possibility of introducing their own distinctive limited editions in the future, once the initial hype settles down, to ensure the Jimny range remains fresh and up-to-date. Taking a page out of Tata’s book, which has employed this strategy successfully before, Maruti Suzuki could draw inspiration from Tata’s Kaziranga and Dark editions. These special editions, such as the Red Dark Edition and the nature-inspired Kaziranga Edition, have proven to be successful in further reinforcing Tata’s sales figures. By following a similar path, Maruti Suzuki could tap into consumer enthusiasm and get the most out of its small off-roader.
