Update: We were contacted by a WestCoast Triumph employee via Facebook who said, “The accident happened in Ahmedabad and the person was the owner of the motorcycle. The dealership doesn’t give any test rides for the Daytona 675.”

The accident took place near YMCA Club on SG Highway in Ahmedabad. The driver of the car fled the accident spot while the rider was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The rider is now said to be recovering while his right foot has suffered 3 major fractures. The driver of the XUV who hit him is said to have ran away from the spot.

A Triumph Daytona 675 met with an ill-fate as the rider allegedly rammed into an oncoming Mahindra XUV5OO SUV in Gujarat. The details about the incident are few as we received these images via WhatsApp messenger. From what we understand, the owner was apparently not wearing safety gear and was critically injured in the crash, and has allegedly lost one of his limbs. We wish the rider a speedy recovery.

The sight of the lush Tornado Red draped Triumph Daytona 675 was heart-wrenching to say the least. The crash appears to be a result of frontal impact with the SUV which shattered the complete body of the motorcycle, damaged the chassis and wrecked the front wheel and suspension. In fact, the impact was so severe that it damaged the SUV’s front fascia to a great extent.

Triumph Motorcycles Daytona 675 made its debut in the Indian market at the 2014 Auto Expo. Priced at INR 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) the Daytona 675 is propeled by a 675cc triple cylinder engine with a peak power output of 131PS @ 12500 rpm and peak torque rated at 74NM @ 11900 rpm.

  1. High-time we have separate license and training for high capacity motorcycles just like volvo buses. Although am not sure it was completely the riders fault.

  2. Not only in India , anywhere in world its not safe if you drive at highspeeds without safety gear…Most high speed accidents in comparison with population happen outside India..
