Ola Roadster 9.1 price slashed by Rs 60,000

Ola Electric has made a strong move with its Roadster 9.1 and this one change can really shake the market. The company has cut the price by a big margin and also introduced a new way to purchase this bike.

The Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh now comes at Rs 1.29 lakh ex-showroom. Earlier it was priced at around Rs 1.89 lakh, so this is a drop of around Rs 60000. This makes it a lot more reachable than before.

But there is a catch. You cannot buy it anytime now. It will be available only in fixed time slots with limited units.

First booking window

  • Opens on April 3
  • The booking slot is scheduled from 6 PM to 9 PM
  • More slots will come later based on production

The reason behind this change is simple. Demand is very high and supply is still catching up.

Performance and battery details

  • 9.1 kWh battery pack
  • Uses new 4680 Bharat cell
  • Claimed range goes up to around 500 km
  • Dual focus on range and efficiency

This battery is made in India and cost has come due to higher production and better control over battery manufacturing.

Running cost is where things get interesting

  • Charging cost is around Rs 46 for full charge
  • Running cost comes close to Rs 0.09 per km
  • Petrol bike like Bajaj Platina costs around Rs 1.35 per km
  • This creates a huge gap in daily usage cost

Over time the savings become very big, especially for regular riders

Power and riding support

  • Strong performance output from electric motor
  • Smooth and quick acceleration
  • Designed for both city and longer rides

Focus is on low running cost and ease of use

Demand and production side

  • Demand has increased more than 5 times
  • Strong growth seen in March
  • Registrations up by over 150 percent
  • Daily orders crossed 1000 units
  • Battery factory expansion in progress
  • Production target going towards 6 GWh capacity
  • Higher production will help reduce cost further

Other key points

  • The Roadster 9.1 is part of Ola’s high performance range
  • Focus on long range electric mobility
  • Better ownership experience claimed by brand
  • Supports shift away from petrol usage

This price cut clearly changes the value of this bike. The initial cost is still higher than basic petrol bikes, but the low running cost makes a big difference over time.
