MSIL Rolls Out OTA Updates For 3 Of Its Models

India’s largest auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has upgraded a few of its models with new connectivity features. Maruti’s premium hatchback Baleno, the 7-seater MPV Ertiga, and Ertiga’s premium version, the XL6 have received this update.

These feature updates will be available via an OTA (over-the-air) update for the existing customers while the new vehicles will be rolled out with them.

New Features

The new features include – wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity on the SmartPlay Pro & Pro+ Infotainment System, along with Turn-By-Turn navigation.

The turn-by-turn navigation feature will be displayed on the head-up display offered on the top trim of the Baleno while all other variants of the Baleno, Ertiga, & XL6 will display the directions on their MID in the instrument cluster.

This turn-by-tuarn navigation is compatible with Android Auto’s Google Maps, although it is not compatible with Apple Maps.

The Ertiga and XL6 get another update to their speaker units, i.e., the ARKAMYS Surround Sense audio tuning for improved speaker sound quality and signature ambience settings for various moods.

Earlier, the carmaker had updated the Brezza with all these new features as well.

Who Can Install The Updates?

Both existing and new customers can enjoy these new connectivity features. By installing the update from a smartphone or by downloading the Suzuki Connect app from Google Play Store, Apple App store, or Maruti Suzuki’s official website, one can access an array of features including remote functions like an immobilizer, vehicle health status, battery check among others.

However, these feature updates are only for the cars equipped with Suzuki’s SmartPlay Pro and Pro+ infotainment systems.
