MG unveiled a new electric convertible called the Cyberster at the Shanghai Auto Expo 2023. Additionally, the company plans to launch the production version of this vehicle in the summer of 2024.

MG Cyberster packs tech and performance
MG has officially announced that the Cyberster will be a “high-performance EV sports car”. This is considered as the first of its kind since the original Tesla Roadster. Moreover, it is also the first new convertible from the MG brand in over a decade. The company promises “cutting-edge” driver technology and a futuristic cabin. However, MG has not yet officially announced the Cyberster’s technical specifications.
Design of MG Cyberster
The design language of the MG Cyberster looks like a modern version of the iconic MG Roadster. The long bonnet, smooth body lines, and kammback rear profile resemble the iconic MG roadster. Moreover, it boasts some unique features like scissor doors, LED lights, sporty bumpers, and alloy wheels. Overall, the MG Cyberster’s aesthetics complement the convertible’s bold and sporty profile.

Powertrain Options
As the name suggests, the MG Cyberster will be an all-electric car in 3 variants. The base variant will feature a single motor, while the mid-variant will get a two-motor setup. The mid variant will exert a power of 101 hp on the front motor and 215 hp on the rear motor.
But, The top variant will be the most powerful Cyberster churning 201hp at the front and 335 hp at the rear. However, the power output will be increased to 530 hp after the official launch. MG has not yet announced the specifications of the battery pack, but the weight of the vehicle will vary from 1850 to 1985 kgs.
Launch Timeline
MG is ready to roll out the Cyberster in European countries by the summer of 2024. With its launch, the Cyberster will join the portfolio of SUVs and sedans.
