MG presents its Hydrogen Fuel-Cell technology at Auto Expo 2023

MG Motor India on the 12th January displayed new energy vehicles (NEVs) using its third-generation hydrogen fuel cell technology at the Auto Expo 2023, showcasing the future of mobility in India with a stronger focus on sustainability. The cutting-edge hydrogen fuel-cell technology highlights MG’s dedication to offering clean and effective transportation based on sustainable, renewable energy sources.

The Phoenix No. 1 fuel-cell car project was first introduced in 2001. The project introduced the hydrogen fuel-cell system. The most recent third-generation fuel-cell system developed also known as PROME P390, has advanced features such an integrated design, a high power density, high durability, high dependability, and outstanding environmental adaptation.

The industry-leading fuel cell technology has a system power of 92 kW. It complies with the strictest safety regulations and outperforms other important performance metrics, like comfort, fuel efficiency, and service life. The PROME P390’s clever control algorithms also provide quick response and precise control over the vehicle. The fuel-cell technology is applicable to a variety of vehicle platforms. It includes medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, city buses, and passenger cars.

The Euniq 7

Hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles provide a number of benefits. This includes zero emissions, high efficiency, high load, quick refueling, and long battery life. With EUNIQ 7, a hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicle that not only emits only water and has zero carbon emissions. But also performs like an air purifier, purifying the air that 150 adults would normally breathe in just one hour of driving. The PROME P390 system promises excellent performance on these parameters.

Technically speaking, the PROME P390 has a max operational efficiency of 60% and produces 92 kW of power. It can start chilly at -30 °C and run at a high temperature of 95 °C. The fuel-cell measures 790*598*820 (mm) and has a long lifespan of more than 10,000 hours. The PROME P390 also has an integrated architecture that does not require outside humidification.

In the 98 years since it was established in the UK in 1924, MG has developed into a cutting-edge, futuristic brand. The cutting-edge manufacturing facility for MG Motor India in Halol, Gujarat, has a production capacity of 1,25,000 vehicles annually and employs close to 2,500 people.
