Mercedes-Benz has introduced the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, an ultra-luxurious variant of the iconic SL Roadster. This new model represents the pinnacle of opulence in the SL lineup and is hailed by Mercedes as the sportiest car ever produced under the Maybach name. Notably, the SL 680 is the only two-seater in the Maybach portfolio and is powered by a formidable 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Deliveries are set to begin in Europe next year, with a global rollout to follow.

The SL 680 makes a bold statement with its signature Maybach grille, adorned with sleek, illuminated vertical slats that enhance its commanding presence. The redesigned front bumper features chrome accents, elevating the vehicle’s luxury beyond the standard SL Roadster. Available in two exclusive color schemes—Garnet Red Metallic and Opalite White Magno—both options are contrasted by an Obsidian Black hood, with additional color customizations available upon request. The hood and soft top are intricately patterned with handcrafted Maybach logos, adding a bespoke touch, while an upright Mercedes star and chrome-finished fin run along the center of the bonnet.
Further enhancing the car’s distinctive appearance, the SL 680 features a chrome-trimmed windshield surround, rose-gold-accented headlights, and a choice of two forged 21-inch alloy wheel designs—‘five-hole’ or ‘multi-spoke.’

Under the hood, the Maybach SL 680 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Unlike many modern performance cars, it forgoes hybrid assistance, staying true to a more traditional powertrain setup. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. The SL 680 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, underscoring its performance credentials.

Availability
While it remains uncertain whether the SL 680 will be available in the Indian market, European deliveries are slated to begin in 2025, with other regions to follow.
