Jimny Like Small Crossover EV Spied Testing

Globally known as the SAIC-GM-Wuling Alliance, Baojun offers plenty of cars under various brands depending upon the market. In the Indian market, they offer the Hector and Hector Plus. MG Hector is also known as Baojun 530, Wuling Almaz, and Chevrolet Captiva. Baojun had unveiled their new mini SUV prototype christened the KiWi mini crossover.

About the KiWi Crossover

The manufacturer has codenamed this project the E260S. The dimensions of the new KiWi are minuscule in comparison to the Maruti Jimny. The production version of KiWi is expected to retain the majority of design cues from its prototype. The overall proportion of the design language is retained from its concept version including the LED Headlamps and taillamps. In this snippet, the test mule sits on the steel wheels.

However, the manufacturer will offer alloy wheels in the top-spec variants. Apart from the headlamp design, this prototype resembles the silhouette of the Land Rover Defender 90. As per the dimensions, it seems minuscule and it will be city friendly. The interior layout in this snippet compromises a horizontal twin-screen resembling the dashboard layout of the concept.

Will it come to Indian shores?

The KiWi electric crossover is all set to hit the Chinese Automobile market. With its compact dimensions and retro-futuristic design language, it may impress customers. However, the manufacturer has not revealed any details regarding the specification of its powertrain and battery pack.

There are no official details about its India launch under the MG brand. However, if this car is on the verge to arrive in the India market, it is expected to be retailed under the MG brand with Air nomenclature.
