Bajaj Auto is set to unveil India’s first-ever CNG-powered motorcycle on July 5, 2024, in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways. This highly anticipated launch, possibly named the “Bruzer,” promises to shake up the two-wheeler market with its focus on fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness.
A Game-Changer for Commuter Needs
The “Bruzer” promises to be a game-changer for commuters, offering significantly lower running costs compared to traditional petrol bikes. Bajaj has remained tight-lipped about the exact engine specifications, but industry estimates suggest performance will be comparable to conventional 110-150cc motorcycles.

Innovation in Design and Safety
Bajaj’s CNG Bike boasts a unique double cradle frame and a possibly “sloper engine” design. Leaked blueprints reveal a cleverly integrated CNG tank within the frame, providing extra protection and ensuring a wider range of riding conditions without leakage risks. The traditional petrol tank remains in its usual position, while the CNG tank’s capacity is estimated to be around 2-3 kgs to balance weight and safety.
Production Ramp-Up and Market Potential
Bajaj plans initial production of the 110cc “Bruzer” at its Aurangabad facility, with eventual expansion to its Pant Nagar plant. Production targets have been revised upwards to a staggering 2 lakh units per annum, reflecting the company’s confidence in the “Bruzer’s” potential to revolutionize the two-wheeler segment, especially if priced competitively.
