Hero has finally launched the Vida V1 electric scooter in India. The Vida V1 Plus is priced at ₹1.45 lakh whereas the Vida V1 Pro is priced at ₹1.59 Lakh. The V1 scooters will be made available in a phased manner. As of now, the scooter is available only in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Jaipur with other locations being offered soon. Bookings will open on October 10 and deliveries will commence in the second week of December. Hero will also offer customers three long test drives.

The design of the Hero Vida is rather unique and unlike any other e-scooter we’ve seen before. The front has a sharp looking fascia which comes in dual-tone color. The LED headlights are futuristic as well and they almost make the front of the scooter look like a face. The side features a retro like design and the seat is split into two parts. It also has a unqiue mechanism wherein it unlocks from the middle rather than the rear. The seats open to reveal two storage spaces. The one in the rear is a 26-litre storage whereas the front is a much smaller space which actually houses the two removable batteries.

All in all, the design of the Vida will definitely grab eyeballs. The Vida V1 Plus is available in three colors – Matte White, Matte Sports Red and Gloss Black while the Vida V1 Pro comes in four colors, including these three and Matte Abrax Orange. In terms of features, both these scooters come loaded with a 7-inch digital TFT toucshcreen with navigation, customisable ride modes along with Eco, Ride and Sport modes, two-way throttle, limp mode, cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation, parking assist, SOS emergency alert button and key fob for keyless access. It also connected technology such as scooter diagnostics, document storage and trip analysis. It also gets customizable regen and power modes to tweak them exactly according to your needs.

The Vida V1 Plus gets a 3.44kWh battery that delivers an IDC claimed range of 143km, while the V1 Pro gets a larger 3.94kWh battery that delivers a claimed IDC range of 165km. Both the models get an electric motor that produces 6kW of power. The V1 Plus can do 0-40 km/h in 3.4 seconds whereas the V1 Pro can do 0-40 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Top speed is the same for both at 80 km/h. Both the variants can be fast charged at the rate of 1.2 km/min with the help of a fast charger. The V1 Plus takes 5hr 15min to charge from 0-80 percent, while the V1 Pro takes 5hr 55min for the same using a home charger.

Additionally, both the scooters have removable batteries which can be charged using upto 11 kW of power, making it more convienient to charge the scooters and also potentially swap them with charged ones. The Vida V1 comes with standard five-year warranty for 50,000 kms. The V1 gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock suspension setup. In terms of braking, it features a disc up front and a drum brake at the rear. The V1 goes up against the likes of the TVS iQube, Ather 450x, Ola S1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak scooters.
