Following the successful debut of the CE 04 electric scooter, BMW Motorrad India has hinted at the upcoming launch of the CE 02 electric scooter through its social media channels. Set to be the brand’s most affordable offering, the CE 02 is anticipated to hit the market during the upcoming festive season.

In October 2023, TVS Motor Company commenced production of the BMW CE 02 at its Hosur manufacturing facility. The CE 02, which has already been spotted on Indian roads multiple times, is part of an EV platform co-developed with BMW. As part of their collaboration, TVS will manufacture the CE 02 and integrate some of its technology into its own products. The CE range of EVs is designed to establish BMW as a premium brand in the clean energy space while appealing to urban customers and expanding its global customer base.

The BMW CE 02 is powered by a 2kWh battery, available in either a single or dual battery configuration. Depending on the setup, the scooter can deliver a range of 90 km with a top speed of 95 km/h or a range of 45 km with a top speed of 45 km/h. Similar to the CE 04, this two-wheeler boasts modern features and a stylish design that enhances its appeal.

Expected features of the CE 02 include all-LED lighting, a reverse gear, keyless operation, USB charging, and a 3.5-inch TFT instrument console. Despite its compact dimensions, the scooter will be equipped with premium components like USD front forks, adjustable rear shock absorbers, and ABS. The CE 02 will ride on 14-inch alloy wheels.

BMW is expected to price the CE 02 between Rs 5 to 6 lakh, positioning it as one of the most expensive scooters in the Indian market
