Quick Overview:

  • Built on MG’s Global Smart Electric Platform with 136 PS power output

JSW MG Motor India has turned up the heat in the electric car game again—this time with the new Windsor PRO. After teasing a string of tech upgrades, the company has now revealed that the upcoming electric vehicle will feature a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. And yes, it’s aimed squarely at range anxiety.

What to expect?

Built on MG’s Global Smart Electric Platform, the Windsor PRO retains its compact crossover shape but adds a fresh set of tricks under the skin. It now packs 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque via a Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMS) motor, which, by the way, is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance.

New tech and features

But the highlight here is its tech arsenal. MG has confirmed that the Windsor PRO will come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking. In addition, the car will support Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Vehicle charging. In simple terms, it can power your camping gear or even juice up another EV.

Windsor market position

The Windsor PRO is a successor to the MG Comet and Windsor, with the latter being one of India’s best-selling EVs since launch. With the PRO badge, MG is targeting buyers who want a more feature-loaded, future-ready offering without stretching to premium EVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 or the Volvo XC40 Recharge. In terms of size and segment, the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 will be its closest rivals—though the Windsor PRO might outshine both on the tech front.

MG hasn’t disclosed the official range yet, but with the upgraded battery, expect real-world figures to hover around the 350-400 km mark. The pricing is expected to remain competitive and could start around ₹13–15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Final Thoughts

Bigger battery? Check. ADAS? Check. Power bank on wheels? Also, check. The Windsor PRO is shaping up like that overachieving cousin who just got better at everything overnight. Now all it needs is a good price tag and a quirky shade of green—and we’re in business!
