Nissan Motor India has started exporting the new Nissan Magnite SUV, solidifying its global manufacturing capabilities. The export rollout aligns with Nissan’s “One Car, One World” philosophy, emphasizing the global appeal and utility of its compact SUV offering. South Africa became the first market to receive the new Magnite, with 2,700 units shipped from Chennai within a month of its Indian launch in October 2024.
Expansion of Export Footprint
The new Magnite is part of Nissan’s strategy to expand its reach across over 65 international markets, including left-hand drive regions. The initiative highlights India’s growing role as a global export hub for Nissan. Manufactured at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, the Magnite underscores the company’s “Make-in-India, Make-for-the-World” vision, with cumulative global sales of the model surpassing 150,000 units since its original debut in 2020.

Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of Nissan’s AMIEO Region, emphasized the importance of the Magnite in both domestic and export strategies, noting its strong acceptance in markets like South Africa. Jordi Vila, Nissan Africa President, echoed this sentiment, citing the Magnite’s appeal for customers with its bold aesthetics, advanced safety features, and technology offerings.
Key Specifications of the Nissan Magnite

Strategic Growth for Nissan India
The export of the new Magnite not only enhances India’s position as a significant automotive export hub but also aligns with Nissan’s renewed strategy under “The Arc” plan.
