The folks at online motoring portal, Motorrad, have released a render of a six-cylinder street-fighter from BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler arm of BMW Automobiles. If the report does turn out to be true, this modern day six-cylinder naked, expected to be powered by the same motor that is seen on the K 1600 GT, will churn out a healthy 160 PS of power.
If not an all-new skeleton, this six-cylinder street-fighter may share its chassis with BMW’s litre-class motorcycles, the S1000R and the S1000RR. The litre-class duo come equipped with a aluminum bridge-type frame which has been well received by enthusiasts and experts from across the globe. The rumoured motorcycle, similar to other BMW Motorrad products, will be heavily tech-laden and is expected to be equipped with all the latest software and hardware from the German manufacturer’s tech-department.
Mechanical details are yet unknown but as the rumour suggests, the street-fighter will receive K 1600 GT’s 1,649 cc oil-/water cooled 4-stroke in-line 6-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. The motor on the K 1600 GT churns out a 160 hp of power at 7,750 rpm and 175 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm but the performance numbers may vary to match the street-fighter’s characteristics. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed, helical, gearbox and a drive shaft.
The image presented by Motorrad is a render and there is no official report confirming or hinting towards such street-fighter motorcycle.

I would buy that motorcycle. I’ve been telling everyone I meet that works for BMW that if they build a K1600R (and import it to the USA), I’ll buy one.
