Official: Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB India Launch On February 28, 2017

Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the launch date for the latest iteration of the E-Class. Known as the E-Class Long Wheel Base (LWB), the model will be launched at an event in Mumbai on February 28, 2017. This is the first time in the world that the E-Class LWB will be available in the right hand drive format. Currently, the model is sold only in China, in the left hand drive format.

How long is the E-Class LWB over the standard model? The upcoming long Wheelbase version of the E-Class measures 5,063mm in length while it has a wheelbase of 3,079mm. This results in an increase of 140mm (5.5 inches) over the standard model.

A few highlights of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB include LED headlamps with 84 LED elements, ambient lighting with 64 different colour options, 12.3 inch COMAND touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 13 speaker 590W Burmester sound system, three zone climate control, air suspension, panoramic sun-roof and four drive modes.

The new E-Class LWB will draw power from a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that produces 255 bhp at 3400 rpm while the peak torque of 620 Nm is available between 1600-2400 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 9G-tronic transmission. Also on offer at the launch would be a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Stay tuned as we get you the launch details live on 28th February from Mumbai.
