As we have been saying, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with an AMT variant and with this, the car will become the only car in its segment to feature an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). In a recent development, it has emerged that the Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT prices could start at INR 4.9 lakhs, which will make the upcoming model the cheapest automatic car in the country. This revelation comes from the good folks at Autocar India, who have even listed down some of the features that the car will be equipped with. As per them, the AMT variant of the Celerio, which is the production model of the A:Wind, will sport equipment and features like dual-tone interiors, steering mounted controls and a double-DIN system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be powered by the same 1.0 litre, three cylinder, K10 petrol engine that can also be found under the hood of Alto K10, WagonR, AStar and the Estilo. While the engine has a max power of 67bhp and a claimed FE of around 21 kmpl. for the AStar, it is expected to have slightly more power for the soon-to-be-launched Celerio. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio has an ARAI certified fuel mileage of 23.1 kmpl.
