Overdrive reports that the Mahindra TUV300 will be getting a powerful engine soon, and a launch is scheduled on May 12, 2016. The new diesel engine, namely the mHwak100, will be shared with recently launched NuvoSport, where it is rated at 100 bhp and 240Nm, while delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 17.45 kmpl (ARAI-certified). For the TUV300 however, those outputs might be revised a tad. It is also expected that the new mHawk100 in the TUV300 will come with the option of mating itself to the AMT.
Visually, the more powerful TUV300 won’t be carrying any changes except for a mHawk100 badge on the front fender. The interiors are expected to be carried over a well.The Mahindra TUV300 is currently powered by the same 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-diesel mHawk engine, good for 84 bhp and 230Nm of torque, while delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 18.47 kmpl. Transmission options on offer are – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission), while prices start from INR 7.36 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
