Thanks to Diesel cars now dominating the Indian car sales, sales of petrol powered cars have been stagnant since some time now. The majority sales of the X1, BMW India’s most popular model, come from the diesel variants. Now, in order to boost the sales performance of the low selling 18i sDrive petrol variant, the car maker has decided to sell the car at a new sticker price of INR 19.90 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The offer is valid till 24th of this month. This is clearly a move to clear the stocks of the BMW X1 Petrol before launching the X1 facelift in Indian market. The 18i sDrive is powered by a 2 liter, four cylinder petrol motor that pumps out performance figure of 150Bhp-200Nm and is mated to a six speed automatic transmission. The car has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 11.25 Kmpl and is known to offer a smooth drive.
The BMW X1 facelift might be launched as soon as in the fast approaching festive season and will come with an 8 speed automatic gearbox, start-stop function and minor cosmetic changes.
