Ducati Monster 1198

Italian Motorcycle Magazine Moto.it have managed to get a few spy shots of the soon to be launched Ducati 1198. Generously draped in camouflage, the exposed parts of the new Ducati Monster 1198- particularly the exhaust routing and the manifold laps would at the very first look remind you of the Ducati Diavel’s engine.

It would be an easy guessing that the new Ducati Monster would be plonked in with the Diavel’s engine making it the most powerful and fastest Monster ever. Though we’re not sure the state of tune and the alterations on the engine, but considering the Ducati Diavel makes a healthy 162 bhp of peak power- one can expect the new Ducati Monster 1198 running the liquid cooled Testastretta 11° motor to be cranking out numbers in excess of 150 bhp. The kerb weight of the new Monster 1198 is stated to be in the region of 190 kgs and with the horsepower numbers to go along, should make the new Monster a formidable motorcycle.

Sporting a gorgeous all aluminium one sided swingarm, the exhausts are still not in complete form and it can be assumed that most probably the end caps would be similar to the Diavel’s design.
