Hyundai Motor First OEM to install DC Ultra-Fast Charging Stations on Indian Highways

Hyundai Motor India Ltd., the country’s first provider of smart mobility solutions and largest exporter since its founding, today announced the rollout of its ultra-high speed public EV charging network throughout India’s most important highways and cities. In order to facilitate the charging experience for both intercity and intra-city travel, each fast charging station will include one unit of DC 150 kW Ultra-Fast Charger and one unit of DC 60 kW High-Speed Charger. This is part of HMIL’s goal to lead the adoption of electric vehicles in India.

All EV users stand to gain from a quick charging experience, and at these charging stations, the all-electric SUV Hyundai IONIQ 5 can be charged from 10% to 80% in under 21 minutes. Hyundai EV owners can access the charging stations on Hyundai’s own Charger Management System in the myHyundai App, making it simple to locate, reserve slots for charging in advance, make digital payments, and monitor the status of their charging from a distance, among other things. In collaboration with the leading charge point operator in the sector, ChargeZone, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. manages and runs all the charging stations.

With a competitive charging rate, the Hyundai-branded station will guarantee an economical EV driving experience. To further enhance customer satisfaction while charging their electric vehicles, charging stations are installed in areas with sufficient customer amenities, such as coffee shops and restaurants. To ensure a smooth charging experience, the charging stations are also staffed with marshals who are available to help EV drivers around the clock.

The public and all passenger EV owners are welcome to use the Ultra-High Speed EV charging stations. After the first two Ultra-Fast Public EV Charging Stations are made available to the public on February 1, 2023, HMIL will continue to grow and instal more of these charging stations along other highways and in other cities to increase EV customers’ peace of mind while promoting the use of electric vehicles in India and supporting the Indian Government’s strong emphasis on electrification.
