Hyundai Creta EV Spied Testing

Hyundai takes a bold step forward with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV which was recently spotted testing on Indian roads

The first set of images confirms that the electric vehicle is based on the facelifted Creta model, sparking excitement among car enthusiasts.

Design Evolution

One glance at the spy shots reveals that the Creta EV shares its overall styling with the facelifted ICE Creta. The familiar headlights and tail-lights from the facelifted model are evident even under the camouflage.

However, what sets the EV apart are the electric-specific design tweaks, including a distinctive closed-off ‘grille’ housing a nose-mounted charging port, reminiscent of Hyundai’s Kona Electric.

The Creta EV doesn’t just stop at aesthetics; it introduces new aerodynamically efficient 17-inch alloy wheels. There’s speculation of 18-inch options being on offer, further enhancing the vehicle’s road presence.

Interior Sophistication

Stepping inside the Creta EV, one can expect a continuation of the sophistication seen in the facelifted model. However, whispers from insiders suggest that certain interior elements will draw inspiration from the futuristic Ioniq 5.

Battery and Motor Insights

The heartbeat of the Creta EV lies in its advanced powertrain. The vehicle is said to be equipped with a formidable 45kWh battery pack sourced from LG Chem.

Although slightly smaller than some competitors, the Creta EV’s battery outshines that of the Nexon EV long-range. Anticipate a practical real-world range of approximately 250km on a single charge.

Matching the powerful battery is an electric motor derived from the latest-gen Kona EV available overseas. This single, front-axle-mounted motor is expected to deliver a robust 138hp and 255Nm of torque, ensuring a dynamic and responsive ride.

Launch and Expectations

As the buzz around the Hyundai Creta EV intensifies, sources indicate that it is expected to hit showrooms in the near future.

With the Indian automotive market witnessing a surge in electric vehicles, Hyundai aims to position the Creta EV as a frontrunner in the segment, offering a perfect amalgamation of style, performance, and eco-friendliness.
