Ather Energy installs more than 1000 fast charging grids

The largest maker of electric scooters in India, Ather Energy, has announced the installation of Ather Grids, or more than 1000 rapid charging stations, in 80 Indian towns. To assure easy access to its flagship scooters, Ather has been on an expansion binge. By the end of 2023, the company intends to construct 2500+ fast charging grids to promote range confidence and ease the transition to EVs.

From its establishment, Ather Energy has made investments in expanding its fast-charging infrastructure. A two-wheeler fast charging platform that is interoperable was made possible by the distribution of its charging connection IP to all OEMs. With 60% of its existing installations in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the Ather Grid, which was planned and constructed in India, is now the largest fast-charging network for two-wheeler EVs in the nation.
In order to facilitate intercity rides, Ather has strategically placed these grids throughout cities. Customers can now simply schedule rides from, for example, Pune to Mumbai, Siliguri to Darjeeling, or Coimbatore to Ooty.

Owners of EVs can charge their vehicles up to 80% faster at 1.5 km/min thanks to the fast-charging stations. The Ather Grid App, which supports the charging network, enables all EV owners to find and instantly check the status of the closest charging stations. All electric two-wheelers and electric four-wheelers can utilise the rapid charging network, which is available for free until March 2023.

Ather Neighborhood Charging, a new project, was just unveiled. The charging solution makes it possible to use charging stations in public places like office buildings, technology parks, and housing developments. This will make charging simple and encourage people to transition to electric vehicles.

Ather’s start to 2023

Ather Energy had a strong start to the year, delivering 12,419 units in January 2023, recording its best-ever monthly sales. In order to accommodate the nation’s increasing demand, Ather opened its second manufacturing facility in Hosur. With a presence in 80 cities and more than 100 Experience Centers, Ather Energy currently has a strong retail sales network throughout the nation. By March 2023, the business expects its retail footprint to reach 150 centres across 100 cities in India, including tier 1, 2, and 3 cities.
