Earlier, we reported about the rumours of the highly anticipated Suzuki Gixxer 250 or the GSX-R250, will be launched in India in March 2016. Further, more reports suggesting the India launch of the quarter-litre motorcycle surfaced on the internet. Also a few renders of the bike from various publications floated as well. And now, finally the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250 (GSX R250) has been completely revealed through spyshots, suggesting a near launch.

Suzuki GSX R250 side profile

The images show three units of the motorcycle, draped in blue colour, parked next to each other at one of Suzuki’s production facilities. At first glance, the motorcycle looks more aggressive and sporty than the Gixxer and Gixxer SF of the Indian markets. Sporting a glossy electric blue paint from head to tail and matte black accents on the sides and seats, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 seems to be a no-nonsense bike. With design and body cues from its elder GSX brothers, this 250cc Suzuki scores high on the aesthetic front. Being a 250cc motorcycle, the Gixxer 250 looks a lot healthier than its 155cc siblings.

Suzuki GSX R250 instrument cluster

The instrument cluster and its placement on the bike remains same as the 155cc Gixxers. While that is brought forward from the previous version, still there is a lot new riding on the new 250cc iteration. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 rides with new clip-on styled handlebar, new raised split-seats, a muscular fuel tank and GSX-R1000 inspired headlight. Overall the bike promises a good sports-tourer package.

Will there be a naked roadster version? It would not be completely incorrect to expect a roadster version accompanying the faired Gixxer 250 in the quarter-litre space. But we would not let our imagination wander too much and wait for Suzuki (or motorcycle paparazzi) to come out with more details or images.

What will power the Suzuki Gixxer 250 is still unknown, but rumours are that it will carry a powerplant similar to the Suzuki Inazuma – a 248 cc liquid-cooled inline-twin engine that makes 26 PS of power and 24 Nm of torque. The power is pushed to the wheels by a six-speed gearbox. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is expected to be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. After its launch in the Indian market the bike will go head on with the upcoming Hero HX250R and Honda CBR 250R.
