Booked my bike at the Panvel dealership. Booking amount was INR 25,000. Dealer says the display bike should arrive by next week.

The dealer mentioned that the on-road price could range between INR 2.5-2.6 lakh.

Congrats Aditya. Keep us posted about any useful news that comes out. When are you getting the delivery?

Thank you. Delivery is likely to take place towards the end of February.

Regarding the update, i visited the dealership yesterday after receiving a call that the display bike had arrived.

Both the red and black coloured models were on display. Couldn’t take many photos as both the bikes were surrounded by other customers.

The dealership was initially reluctant to switch on the instrument console due to some reason but later got it started after higher ups were involved. Saw the instrument cluster and the bike in detail. Fit, finish and build quality was great. The plastic parts near the fuel tank didn’t feel equally well built though.

The dealer said the price will most probably be about INR 2.40 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Delivery is expected to take place 90 days after booking the bike.

The test ride bike is expected to arrive within 10-15 days and the dealer has promised a fairly long test drive once the registration formalities are complete.

Test ride bike still not available with Panvel dealership. I had to contact the dealer in Malad for a test drive. They shared the brochure and the on-road price, which is about INR 2.40 lakh.

This dealer was accepting bookings against an amount of INR 5000 and has already received more than 180 bookings when i visited them 2 weeks ago. They claim a waiting period of 6 months for the red colour and about 2-3 months for the black colour variant. Tempted to book with the Malad dealer since they are receiving a larger lot than the panvel dealership and faster too but a 6 month waiting sounds difficult to wait for.

Coming to the test drive, found the acceleration to be quite good, although there were vibrations around 6-7k rpm (which is probably due to the way it is being ridden during the run-in period). The test ride bike had clocked more than 750 kms in less than a week after it was introduced by the dealer. The test ride bike also had its shift light blinking all the time, which could be a point of concern.

On-road cost break-up:

  • 2.05 lakh: ex-showroom
  • 29,000: road tax and registration
  • 6,500: insurance (comprehensive)

Malad dealer had delivered 3 of the 10 bikes they received in the first lot while the next lot, according to them, was to arrive by this week.

I was impressed with the way TVS sends each unit of the Apache RR310 in a huge box, just like most of the premium and expensive CBU’s and CKD’s.

The Panvel dealer has delivered only two bikes and is still not sure when i’l receive mine. I appreciate his honesty regarding the conversations though, no false promises.t

Meanwhile, i also tried to contact TVS (regarding the issue with the test ride bike not being available and slow shipping to the Panvel dealer) through their social media channels including Facebook and Twitter but they are least bothered to respond to any queries related to the RR310, at least that’s what i observed with their Tweets. It’s been more than 20 days but I’m yet to receive a response on Twitter, which seems highly unlikely now. I even wrote a mail to their customer care/support team more than a week ago but got no response till date.
