I have 2008 Hyundai Getz 1.1.

KM driven 62000

Always serviced in company.

Recently it started giving problem with clutch where it became very hard and my knee started paining. Company guys saying clutch overhaul is needed. Cost is 30000 approx.

I am not sure if my problem of clutch hard will be resolved after overhaul? Can some one advise on this?

Apart from clutch hard, I don’t find any other problem like speed, mileage etc.

Although your car is old, I noticed that it hasn’t really been driven that much. Therefore, it is not necessary that the entire clutch has worn out. Clutch cables or pressure plates are the parts that generally wear out. If these parts are specifically over their lives, it may be better to change these before getting the entire clutch assembly changed. However, the clutch pressure plates may need an assembly change.

Do check the clutch adjustment here, since it is gotten heavy over a period of time. Bad linkages may also cause the problem.

I noticed a strange problem in my Getz’s clutch pedal behavior today. After driving for about 30 minutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
