SPIED: Nissan Sunny CVT petrol caught testing in India

Added in: News

We can see how far Indian automotive market has come just by looking at the automatic variants of some of the popular cars. The large growth in automatics segment can be seen by simply comparing Maruti’s last gen 3 speed automatic transmissions with the automatic tranny we see on say… a Skoda Rapid. The auto tranny in India saw two major developments- introduction of CVT in the last gen Honda City and recently, the Powershift variant of Ford Fiesta sedan. While the former made commutes so much easier, the latter is a study in how much technologically updated our C segment cars are. Talks of PDK from Germans in some D segment cars paint the picture even better. Nissan Sunny CVT should be the next logical weapon to come out of Nissan India’s arsenal. Recently, the good folks at TeamBHP spotted a white Nissan petrol being tested in India. There are good chances that this was equipped with an automatic transmission. The car is powered by a HR15DE motor that produces 97 Bhp-134 Nm and can do duty in the Sunny automatic without much of a re-tuning.
