Skoda India launched the updated version of its premium sedan, the Superb, in February 2016. However, the folks who have already booked the diesel motor powered Superb will have to wait for some more time to lay their hands on the steering wheel; till August 2016 to be precise.

We recently penned down the review of the new Superb which you can read here.

The company had earlier sent an e-mail to customers who had booked the diesel Superb stating that there would be no deliveries of the 2.0-litre diesel powered Superb till the month of March citing global demand as the reason. Dealers have now been asked by Skoda India to stop accepting bookings for the 2.0 litre diesel engine.

The customers who have already made the booking for the TDI engine have been given three options – the first and the most obvious one being to wait till the aforementioned variant arrives in the second half of the year. The second option is to shift the booking to the petrol engine while the third option is a refund of the booking amount.

The petrol mill of the Skoda Superb is a 1.8-litre TSI turbocharged engine that produces 180 PS of power. The engine, mated to the 6 speed manual transmission, delivers 320 Nm of torque while the motor with the 7-speed DSG gearbox churns out 250 Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre diesel, on the other hand, comes mated to a six-speed DSG that puts out 177 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque.
