Lottery Winner Leaves Calls Unanswered; Rolls-Royce Gift Given Away to Ministry of Social Affairs

Indonesian airline Batik Air’s “Flying with Batik Air, home to Rolls-Royce” lucky draw contest lasted from August 2015 until January 2016, promising that the winner could take home a brand Roll-Royce Ghost as the grand prize.

However, when it was time for the airline to break the news to the lucky prize winner, he/she left their phone calls unanswered. The airline picked the second luckiest winner, and another set of phone calls were left unanswered. Even the third luckiest winner never responded.

Now as per local legislation, if the three luckiest prize winners of the draw do not respond, the prize shall be granted to the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. And so it happened.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost was recently handed over by Captain Achmad Luthfie, CEO of Batik Air to the Social Affairs Ministry in accordance with the rules.

As for the lucky (now unlucky) winners, no one knows why they left the phone calls unanswered. Perhaps they thought it was some fraudulent lottery trying to extort information, or were simply suspicious about  receiving a call from an unknown number

Too bad for them, as they lost an once in a lifetime oppurtunity to own a Rolls. To this day, neither the Ministry of Social Affairs nor Batik Air have published the names of the three people who were reluctant to receive the calls prizes.
