Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II launched in India for INR 4.5 Crores

Rolls-Royce, known, arguably as the makers of the best automobiles in the world, will has launched the Phantom Series II Short Wheelbase & Long Wheelbase luxury saloons in India. The SWB and LWB versions of Phantom Series II go on sale for INR 4.5 Crores and INR 5.1 Crores respectively.

The new Phaton Series II was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and car has been updated with new additions in terms of design, technology and features.

Rolls Royce says that the Phantom Series II follows Sir Henry Royce’s maxim “Take the best that exists and make it better”.

Once the preferred car of the Indian Maharajas, Rolls-Royce returned to India in 2005. One of the finest and most famous examples of Rolls-Royce cars in India includes the renowned ‘Star of India’, a one-off 1934 Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental “All-Weather Convertible,” custom made for the Maharaja of Rajkot. Reportedly one of the most valuable cars in the world, its longevity is testament to the long association the car has had with India.

The Phantom Series II has a new front-end with re-styled bumpers and rectangular light apertures. Rolls-Royce is the first to include fully-LED headlamps as standard on a production car. Other lighting related technologies include Curve light functionality using electronically-controlled reflectors to focus headlamp beams in the direction of travel providing greater illumination when cornering. Adaptive headlamps change the cone of light projected onto a road in response to different driving speeds.


The Phantom Series II also sports a modern user interface with re-designed multi-media controllers. The new satellite navigation system has been fully updated with functions that include guided tours and enhanced points of interest, as well as composite route plans. All the info is visible on a larger 8.8 inch control centre display with 8 programmable key functions for the driver. There are cameras at front, rear and top to enhance easy manoeuvring within tight spaces.


The Series II comes with re-worked engines and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for putting down all that power on to tarmac with optimum efficiency.
