Japanese auto giant Toyota today launched the Innova facelift in Indonesian market. Known as the Toyota Kijang Innova in Indonesia, the popular MPV is a hot favorite among the Indonesian car buyers.

This is the third facelift for Innova and that the boffins at Toyota decided to give the highly successful MPV some botox isn’t really surprising. The Innova has been on duty since close to a decade now and the next gen Innova is still more than a couple of years away.

Cosmetically, the Innova gets updated front and rear fascia, with the car getting a really big front grille with dallops of chrome garnishing, a new front bumper, a bigger rear number plate housing, a pair of reflectors positioned on the fifth door and a revised rear bumper.

With the introduction of the facelift, all the variants of Innova in Indonesia will come equipped with ABS and dual front airbags as standard.

Powering the Innova facelift is the same 2.0-liter petrol engine that powered the outgoing model. This engine has a max power of 136 bhp and a peak torque of 183 Nm and can be ordered with either a manual or an auto transmission. The diesel engine option, that of a 2.5-liter direct injection oil burner, too has been carried over from the earlier model. The diesel motor has a max power of 102bhp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. This engine gets only a manual transmission.

There are good chances that the Innova facelift would make its Indian debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in February 2014.
