Official teaser image of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
The upcoming 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, officially teased early this week, will make its world premier on August 1 in Thailand at the 2015 Bangkok International Grand Motor Show. The car maker is currently busy with the preparations of the promotional video and that’s where the upcoming Pajero was most recently snapped with no camouflage. These latest set of spy images reveal various exterior/cosmetic details about the upcoming Mitsubishi SUV.
The new 2016 Pajero Sport will be based on the Triton pick-up and will feature Mitsubishi’s new signature ‘Dynamic Shield’ front fascia design that is also seen on the new Outlander. The spy images reveal most of the design elements of the new swept-wing headlamps, six-spoke alloy wheels and blackened B and C pillars.

While Mitsubishi has remained mum about the power output figures, the new 2016 Pajero Sport is expected to be powered by the same engine that performs duties on the Triton. The 2.4-litre turbo-diesel, four-cylinder, MIVEC engine on the new Triton produces 161 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque and we expect to see similar output figures for the 2016 Pajero Sport.
This new offering from Mitsubishi will run against the next generation Toyota Fortuner and the next generation Ford Endeavour, both of which would make their respective debut soon.
