SPIED- Maruti Suzuki Celerio Interior Images Surface

Regulars here would know that we were the first to bring you the pics of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback. Now, the good folks at Motorbeam have managed to click the interior pictures of the A-Star  replacement.

As can be seen in this pic, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio gets beige and black treatment for the dashboard. The top-of-the-line ZXi trim seen here, gets the Kenwood music system. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio retains the interior design scheme from its A-Wind concept, albeit with some minor changes.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio, as already reported by us, will be equipped with a Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). As can be seen in the above pic, the car will have dashboard mounted gear lever akin to the Ritz. The gear level is marked with the usual P,R,N,D notations, with the + and – signs indicating a manual mode. The instrument console in new, which includes the tachometer on the left. The analog temperature gauge is absent, and there is small MID on the right side. While the steering wheel is similar to the one on the current gen Swift, the ZXi trim does not get a driver airbag.

Speaking about the rear space, nothing much can be said, until we experience it ourselves. We hope, with better packaging, Maruti Suzuki has improved the space at the rear.

Under the hood, the car will be powered by the same 3 cylinder 1.0 liter K10 petrol engine, which does the duty in the WagonR and Alto K10. This engine has a max power output of 67 PS and is known for its peppy performance. This engine will be mated to the Automated Manual Transmission, which will help in bestowing the car with higher fuel efficiency than the manual transmissions.
