Since bookings for the recently released e-SUV, Mahindra XUV400, began in 34 cities at 11:00am on January 26, 2023, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., pioneers of the SUV segment in India, has recorded over 10,000 bookings. This translates to a delivery time of roughly seven months.
The all-electric SUV was introduced earlier this month, with prices starting at INR 15.99 lakh. For each of the two variants, the introductory prices are valid for the first 5,000 reservations. Based on current supply chain visibility, Mahindra plans to deliver 20,000 units of the XUV400 within a year of its launch. For the XUV400 EL and XUV400 EC, deliveries will start in March 2023 and the upcoming Diwali holiday, respectively.
XUV400 Booking Record
The XUV400 recently made it into the India Book of Records by establishing a new record for the greatest distance travelled in an electric vehicle in a single day in below-freezing temperatures. The drive took 24 hours to complete and began in Kyelang, Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh.
Additionally, Mahindra is auctioning the one-of-a-kind, limited-edition All-Electric XUV400. The product of a creative partnership between Mahindra Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose and the celebrated fashion designer Rimzim Dadu. The auction began on January 26 at 11 am and runs through January 31 at 11.59 pm in 2023. On February 10, at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad, the winning bidder will receive the unique XUV400 electric SUV. Mahindra will match the winning bid, and the money will then be divided among the recipients of the “Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards” or donated to a charity of the winners’ choosing.
