Maruti Jimny Zeta-Base Variant Spied

Maruti showcased the Jimny at the 2023 Auto Expo in its range-topping Alpha variant, but now the SUV has been spied in its base Zeta variant but in automatic guise. The automaker has confirmed that the Jimny will be available in two variants at the time of launch – the Zeta and Alpha.

Bookings for the 5-door Jimny are already underway at all Maruti Suzuki NEXA showrooms across the country, and we expect the off-roader to be launched soon. Let us have a closer look at the spy images of the off-road SUV’s Zeta Automatic variant. These are the first undisguised spy shots of the Maruti Jimny 5-door after its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Maruti Jimny: Zeta Variant Exterior Details

The Jimny Zeta variant gets a couple of changes over the Alpha variant. The first thing which catches the eye is the 15-inch black steel rims in place of the alloy wheels seen on the top model. The wheels are covered in 195/80 R15 tyres & it also gets a fabric cover for the spare wheel.

Otherwise, looking at the front, the Jimny Zeta lacks projector headlights & headlight washers, LED DRLs, and fog lights. Moreover, it gets body-coloured door handles, electrically-adjustable black ORVMs, and chunky black, cladding around the wheel arches.

Apart from that, request sensors for the keyless entry are also missing on this variant. The chrome slats for the grille have remained as it is standard across all variants.

Maruti Jimny: Zeta Variant Interior Details

On the inside, we see that the Jimny’s interior is largely the same but, it lacks a couple of features that the Alpha variant offers. The seats are covered in fabric upholstery.

The Jimny gets a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual AC, keyless entry, steering-mounted audio controls, and a multi-info display.

This variant misses out on the 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, and the Arkamys sound system.

Maruti Jimny: Other Details

In India, the Jimny will be available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 103bhp at 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission and Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system.

The carmaker is likely to launch the new Jimny in the month of April this year.
