Maruti Suzuki showcased two new models at the Auto Expo 2023. These were the 5-door version of the Jimny off-road SUV and the Fronx compact Coupe SUV.
While we’ve already spotted the Jimny in its base model avatar, we were interested to see the Baleno-based crossover in its entry-level variant as well. Maruti is already accepting pre-bookings for the Fronx. The car is available in five variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha.
Here’s a look at all that the Fronx has to offer in its Sigma variant.
Fronx Sigma Variant: Exterior Changes
The Fronx, in its Sigma base variant, gets steel wheels that will come with wheel caps, blacked-out door handles along with rear-view mirrors. The Fronx Sigma also gets a blacked-out finish for the B- and C-pillars. The side turn indicator lights have also been moved from the ORVMs to the side fenders.
At the front, the Fronx base model comes with projector headlamps and split LED turn indicators along with front and rear silver skid plates.
Fronx Sigma Variant: Interior Changes & Features
Looking at the interiors, we see that the Fronx base model misses out on a factory-fitted infotainment system and also steering-mounted controls. A twin-dial analogue instrument cluster with a multi-information display is part of the package.
While it doesn’t get any stereo, the silver layer that surrounds the housing for the stereo is still provided along with a blue-coloured dashboard. Maruti has kept the basic features like a 12V power outlet, power windows, and tilt adjustment for the steering wheel intact. However, interestingly, the automatic climate control unit seen on its top model is also provided in the Fronx Sigma.
Fronx Sigma Variant: Launch, Price & Other Details
Like the Baleno, the Fronx will also retail through the brand’s Nexa showrooms. The Fronx is a sub-4 meter Coupe-styled SUV positioned below the Brezza and will rival the likes of the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos & Tata Nexon.
