New Chevrolet Captiva to come to India by late-March

GM India will soon launch the next-generation Captiva 2.2 AT. The present version of the Captiva has  a 2L diesel engine (also seen in the Cruze and Optra Magnum). However, the new model comes with a more powerful 2.2-liter engine along with option of a six-speed automatic transmission. It also has a fresh new sporty and muscular exterior design and a jet-black interior. Among the new comfort and convenience amenities are cruise control; a dual-row heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system; an electric parking brake; rain-sensing wipers; and a stylish sunroof.

The Captiva comes to India as a CBU and the new model should be dearer by Rs. 1-1.5 lakhs . However, GM may decide to go for a local assembly of the car depending on the demand of the new version. Currently, GM sells hardly 100 units of this vehicle in a month and hopes to see a considerable increase in this sales figure with the introduction of the new version in late March.
