Seen here in the spy pics is the seven seat version of the BMW 1 Series GT. The car will not just seat more people but is also longer than the standard variant. It seems like BMW isn’t yet testing this car on public roads as the car was spotted inside a BMW test facility.

The front end of the standard 1 Series GT and the seven seat 1 Series GT are identical till B Pillars, after which the 7 seat version gets longer rear doors, longer rear overhang, a more upright back and many more minor changes.

Underpinning the upcoming BMW 1 Series GT seven-seat variant is the same UKL1 platform that underpins the standard 1-Series GT and the upcoming seven seat variant will be offered with a front-wheel-drive setup. Powering the car will be the same set of engines that power the standard model. This means that the car would get a three-cylinder, a hybrid three-cylinder and a four-cylinder powertrain.

While the standard 1-Series GT will make its public debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the seven seat version is expected to follow six months later.
