Mercedes G63 AMG India Launch on February 19

We reported in detail when it emerged that Mercedes Benz India will introduce the latest iteration of its iconic off road vehicle, the G-Wagon, in Indian premium car market this month.

Now, it has emerged that the new G Class might be launched on 19th this month.

The Mercedes Benz G-Class, aka the G-Wagon, can be safely credited with the title of the longest serving car series in the history of Mercedes Benz. The G-Wagon is one of the most capable off-roaders on this planted and the SUV has remained almost the same since 30 years. The G Wagon continues to come with a ladder frame chassis and sports boxy exterior styling.

The India bound 2013 G63 AMG, the latest variant of the G-Wagon, will replace the G55 AMG that is currently on sale in our country. Regulars here might remember that we reported when the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG was revealed in April last year and later made its public debut at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

Powering the new G63 AMG is a 5.5L V8 gasoline engine that has a max power output of 544 [email protected] and a peak torque figure of 760 [email protected] Mated to this engine is the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-TRONIC seven speed transmission.

The 2013 Mercedes G63 AMG comes with a long list of features that includes the ECO Start/Stop function, AMG high performance brakes, AMG Sport Exhaust System, ESP, HOLD and ESELECT.

Inside the tough looking exteriors is an interior that comes draped in luxurious designer leather upholstery and is loaded with all sorts of gizmos that one may expect inside a high end SUV.
