The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X is the crossover version of the Celerio, priced Rs 8,000 more than the Celerio. The Celerio X is powered by a petrol motor which comes mated to manual and AMT gearbox options
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X is the crossover version of the Celerio hatchback. This outdoorsy version is underscored by blacked-out door cladding and wheel arches, which enhances the soft-roading appeal of the car. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X gets subtle cosmetic upgrades on the outside. It gets an 'X-shaped', blacked-out treatment on the fascia, flanked by conventional headlamps with fog lamps which come embedded into blacked out the insert.
The Celerio X comes equipped with 14-inch all-black alloy wheels and the B-pillar, ORVMs, door handles and roof rails get a similar treatment too. As compared to the Celerio, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X is 20 mm longer, 35 mm wider and 5 mm taller. However, the wheelbase and ground clearance remains identical at 2425 mm and 165 mm. The rear of the CelerioX comes equipped with conventional taillights, a spoiler with an integrated stop light, and a blacked-out bumper with a silver-finished faux skid plate.
On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X gets seats which are cushioned pretty well and get 3D graphics with some orange inserts. The infotainment console comes fitted with a stereo system which supports CD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth. Steering mounted controls are quite helpful for the driver to toggle between functions of the infotainment screen. The car also features a USB charging socket, keyless entry, electric power windows, central locking and a security alarm.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X gets 235-litres of boot space. A manual seat adjuster is also offered with the CelerioX by which a driver can adjust the seat height according to his/her requirement. The instrument cluster comprises of a speedometer in the middle and is flanked by a tachometer on the left along with a small digital display on the right, which provides information about fuel, distance covered and the selected gear.
In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki CelerioX comes with features like ABS, driver-side airbag as standard and, dual airbags on higher variants. Other features which enhance the safety quotient include central locking, power windows, rear wiper and wash, a security alarm, keyless entry, a headlight levelling system, immobilizer and pedestrian protection.
Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki CelerioX is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol mill, which produces 67 ps at 6000 rpm and 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. It comes paired with a 5-speed Manual gearbox and there's an AMT option available too. The Maruti Suzuki CelerioX has a fuel-efficient motor which is rated for a fuel economy of 23 Kmpl with a petrol motor.
The petrol engine is peppy in nature and Maruti Suzuki has worked hard to keep NVH ( Noise Vibration and Harshness) levels in check. There is only one choice of the engine on offer, whereas, with the new WagonR, one can also opt for the 4-cylinder petrol motor which powers the likes of the Swift and the Baleno.
