Ever since we saw the spy pictures of the erstwhile Mahindra Logan CS(now Verito), we wondered when the car will be launched here. Seems like there is finally some clarity on the tentative launch date of the vehicle. It has emerged that the vehicle will be launch towards the end of this year and might hit the market as soon as in December.
“In the next couple of months, we will have our compact SUV and by the end of the year, we will launch the sub-four metre Verito. These new products will enable our sales to grow further this fiscal” Mahindra’s Chief Executive Automotive Division Pravin Shah said.
As the above dialogue reads, other big news here is that Mahindra will launch an all new, sub-Scorpio SUV to sell alongside its current range. Regulars here might remember that we were one of the first to report about the development of this vehicle. The all new mini SUV from Mahindra is slated to make a debut in 2 months of time. The new SUV will either share the mini-Xylo’s diesel mill, or will sport a new powerplant all together, developed especially for the application. The SUV may have its starting price between Rs 4.5 lakh, making it the cheapest SUV available in the country. And will challenge the Premier Rio.
We hope that Mr.Shah was not referring to the Mini Xylo when saying that M&M will launch a compact SUV. It may be noted that the Xylo is a MUV and we don’t expect the mini Xylo to be a SUV.
