BMW M7 Pics

The M Series cars from BMW have always been a rage among the performance car enthusiasts. Regulars here would remember that we, at Motoroids, were ooh-ing and aah-ing with delight when we tested the BMW M5 recently. While the M5 performance variant of the 5 Series has been in existence since 1985, M series variant of the flagship 7 Series luxury sedan has always been conspicuous by its absence. There are many who are of the belief that a performance variant of a car that is built solely for ferrying its passengers in utmost luxury is not required. However, there is also a section of BMW fans who think that a M7 might be the ultimate answer to the likes of Audi A8 W12 and Mercedes Benz S Class S63 AMG.

Rumors have been plentiful that the M7 variant will debut with the advent of the next generation BMW 7 Series. The next generation of the luxury sedan is scheduled to arrive in late 2015/early 2016.

The BMW M7 might be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with max power rated at 482 bhp and a peak torque figure of 650 Nm. The M7 might also come with a lot of weight saving bits, an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a stiffer suspension setup.

Seen here is a digitally imagined BMW M7 that is based on the current 7 Series. The illustration gives us a fair idea of what the M7 might have looked like had it been in production. The illustrator feels that the car would have sported a carbon fibre roof, bespoke alloy wheels and a lowered ride height.
