Added in: News

The Honda CBR250R is still a fresh launch from the Honda stable in India. However, fans have always had its eyes on the CBR150R since quite a long time, even before the CBR250R was brought to India. There were speculations though that the CBR150R would not make its way to India owing to emission issues. But this has been contradicted by one of the members of Xbhp forums who had a 20 minutes chat with the M.D. of the Vellore Honda Showroom. In this brief chat, he managed to extract quite a lot of information regarding Honda’s intentions in India.

The CBR150R is powered by a 150cc DOHC, 4-valve, water-cooled, PGM-FI engine capable of pumping out 18.98 bhp of power and 1.37 KGM of torque at 10,500 RPM and 8,500 RPM respectively. Like the R15, the CBR150R will also feature a 6-speed manual gearbox. Telescopic forks in the front and a Monoshock swingarm at the rear will make up the suspension for the bike. The CBR150R will be brought to a standstill by Nissin discs up front as well as at the rear. The bike will bear full fearing and split seats and 17 inch alloy wheels. The tachometer is quite basic and analogue though.

Honda may soon be coming up with its fourth manufacturing plant in South India, mostly in Tamil Nadu after the recently setup Narsapur plant. He also revealed that the firm thinks that it is too early to introduce the middleweight 650cc motorcycles in India since the market for that particular segment is not mature yet. Here we have some more images.
